Poem for Overthinkers

To My Mind Whom You May Concern:

A day of you makes me go haywire,

From dusk till dawn you never stop,

Rumbling in my mind is what you’re fond of,

To my despair, I go topsy-turvy.

How shall I say, oh mind, that you never quit?

As I lay my head on my bed,

A million thoughts come rushing in,

To bid you farewell, I must not ponder.

If you use it wisely, I’d say that’s great,

But if you don’t, you deal with a villain.

So my friend, don’t play around,

Regrets are on their way if you keep overthinking.

Overthinking is born from fear,

Yet, do not fret—you are not alone.

Overthinking weaves a shield unseen,

To guard us gently from

 the unknown’s sheen.
